Day 24...going into hibernation

NBME 2 was today...I went down significantly today.

Less than thrilled that I've gone from above average to below average in the course of a week. To add insult to injury, pretty much every section that I had done well on in NBME 1 (Cardio, Neuro, Heme/Lymph) was marginal for NBME 2, and some of the marginal NBME 1 subjects (Musculoskeletal, Behavioral and Genetics) I did well in for NBME 2. The big one (Path) and my most loathed subjects (Renal and GU/GYN/Breast) stayed consistent.

All I know is that at this point my former shreds of self-confidence are completely gone and I once again have no idea where I stand. On that note Bostonian will be taking a little hiatus from everything but cramming his face off for the next 12 days.

Catch ya on the flip side, wish me luck if you feel like it...it's seeming like I'll need it.

Good luck. Perhaps you've hit the plateau phase and have gotten too bored or disinterested with the material and studying to be effective. Keep running, take some time for yourself at least one day before the exam (which you should do the day before as well) and focus on questions. That's were the money is at - questions.

Why is it that medical students' self confidence and ego are shaken so easily? I had an ego breaking episode of my own today. There's probably a global conspiracy which enlists putting crack into the water supplies of medical students to induce anxiety and thus thalamic learning...

Believe in your educational integrity. You wouldn't be at medical school if you didn't have it.

There are lots of excuses one could make for the recent downturn of marks but at the end of the day, it's up to you to rectify them with whatever mechanisms you have at your disposal so good luck. It seems as though you're a self motivator so keep on trucking.

My D-Day is tomorrow. In 14.25h to be exact. Tomorrow I'll be the one cartwheeling with a bottle of bubbly through the hallowed halls of the chem building.

Glad you enjoy the blog :)

Currently one of my favorite means of procrastination. One of many.

Keep the hammer down!!!

Oh and I forgot to mention that as of now I am changing my default name for high maintenance cohorts from 'Brittany' to 'Pink Razor' in all my school anecdotes. ;)

How is 'hibernation' going? LOL

Well it is good to know the P.R's are universal. ;)

This girl is done. I am hitting the Champagne hard tonight...now where DID I leave my sabre....hmmmm

Only a week and a half left hey?

Now I am going to go eat food that isn't found in the "meal replacement" section of the grocery store. Sweeeett.
